The Festival of India 2010, the largest Indian American event in the South East USA will occur Saturday August 14, 2010 from 11 am to 7 pm. The event attracts over 8,000 people from the Indian community in Atlanta and around. It offers unique cultural exhibits, health fairs, entertainment shows and food stalls. The event is celebrated as a community event in commemoration of Independence of India from the British rule which was achieved on August 15th 1947. This year Festival of India will be celebrated on Saturday August 14th, 2010 at Gwinnett Civic Center , 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth GA 30097. For more information www.iacaatl.org.

Survey: Gwinnett residents pleased with quality of life
The A.L Burrus Institute of Public Service and Research at Kennesaw State University recently conducted a survey of 400 randomly selected adults who live in the five core metro counties of Gwinnett, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, and Fulton. The survey measured the quality of life in metro Atlanta and showed that more Gwinnett County residents rate the community as a very good or good place to live (86.6%) compared to all respondents (78.3).
Other highlights from the survey:
· 89% rate area as very good or good place to raise a family
· 91.5% rate parks and recreational facilities as very good or good
· 84% rate police protection as very good or good
· 82.7% rate library services as very good or good
Gwinnett had the highest overall quality of life rating and surpassed the other four counties in eight other areas, including local schools, drainage and flood control, trash and litter control, and road maintenance.
